Recognizing an unusual sign, raising a timely concern, or having an opinion heard can make a significant difference. In the M&E industry, where safety, quality, and progress depend on the responsibility of every individual, corporate ethics is not merely a set of behavioral principles. It is reflected in every decision and action, both in the office and on construction sites.
Every October, the Yurtec Group observes Corporate Ethics Month across its organization to raise awareness of professional ethics and strengthen individual responsibility. In response to the 2026 initiative, Sigma continues to join the Group in promoting a culture of integrity and fostering a respectful, open working environment where everyone is encouraged to speak up when concerns arise.
Three Key Priorities: Turning Awareness into Action at Sigma
In his message dated October 1, 2026, Mr. Ikumi Kobayashi, Chairman of the Corporate Ethics Committee of Yurtec Corporation, highlighted three key priorities: doing the right thing and acting with pride; fostering a psychologically safe workplace; and promoting a speak-up culture.

1. Do the Right Thing – Act with Pride
Everyone should regularly reflect on their own conduct, comply with established standards, and proactively identify potential risks. At Sigma, this commitment is reflected in following procedures, fulfilling professional responsibilities, maintaining honesty in reporting, and upholding safety and quality standards throughout M&E construction activities.
Every right decision not only protects the individual making it but also helps safeguard colleagues, project quality, and the company's reputation.
2. Foster a Psychologically Safe Workplace
A strong team is built on mutual respect, active listening, and open communication. In M&E projects, effective coordination among engineers, managers, and site personnel is essential to successful project execution.
When every team member feels comfortable expressing opinions, sharing challenges, or proposing solutions, coordination issues and potential risks can be identified and addressed at an early stage. Listening to and respecting colleagues' perspectives should therefore be an integral part of Sigma's workplace culture.
3. Build a Speak-Up Culture – Proactively Prevent Risks
On construction sites, any unusual equipment conditions, potential safety hazards, or non-compliance identified during construction must be taken seriously and communicated promptly. Remaining silent or overlooking concerns can allow problems to escalate.
A speak-up culture encourages everyone to identify risks, report concerns to their supervisors, or discuss them with colleagues rather than waiting for an incident to occur before taking corrective action. This is how every Sigma team member demonstrates responsibility toward their work, their colleagues, and the overall quality of each project.
Corporate Ethics Begins with Everyday Actions
Yurtec's three priorities are closely interconnected: integrity guides our actions, an open working environment enables people to share their concerns, and a speak-up culture helps identify and prevent risks before they escalate.
At Sigma, practicing corporate ethics goes beyond complying with regulations. It is reflected in the responsibility demonstrated in every task, honesty in every report, respect in every conversation, and a proactive approach to every potential risk on site.
In response to Corporate Ethics Month 2026, Sigma continues to promote integrity, professionalism, and responsibility, joining the Yurtec Group in building a workplace where every individual is heard, every concern is taken seriously, and doing the right thing is consistently put into practice.
Because every responsible action we take today helps protect people, preserve our reputation, and build a sustainable future for Sigma.
